So it’s time again to board a plane and head off to my friends in Germany. I am headed to a beautiful little town in Bad Oeyhausen Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany. Nicola, my friend there, is a nuclear powered ontrapnuer who runs a wool distribution house called “WoolHouse”, that supplies Germany and England with some of the finest wools. This is where my little studio in Germany sits waiting my return. I have not seen Germany in December but the post on facebook are already in full swing of advent. Candles and decorations have been on the ready since November.
This lovely shot was taken right outside my window. Nicola will most likely kill me for posting because the garden was not up to her standard but it does demonstrate the lush surroundings of the countryside that envelopes their home. To the left side of their home sheep graze lazily in the shadows of the forest and berries and wildlife flourish. I have never felt like I was a visitor there but more like a sister that has come home to visit.
I love traveling to different countries and meeting the people there. Even if I don’t speak the language. The language of friendship, art, tea, and knitting always provide for fun. This time I’m not going to be shy about photos. I have a few new apps to try out. I’ll be mentioning them in my next post.
Here is a selfie of my self sitting in my little corner studio at WoolHouse. I got so much painting done there in the morning light. New faces would greet me and inquire if I could paint their cat knitting or crocheting. It was always upbeat and busy. Nicola would be rushing around greeting customers and showing them the newest colors and wool. There would always be a knitting group in the corner talking and knitting.
This morning along with my cup of tea, I thought I would just give a glimps into my morning routine. I come out here into the living room, where it’s filled with books and plants and of coarse cats and a sweet ole dog. To just sit and think about the day. I have my morning cup and mediate. Then I like to ask the universe a question. Now this question could be anything from “how am I to approached this issue”, or “what do I focuse on today” or “What do I need to hone in on in my work”. You know all the questions that float around in your head. I then use my cards, and I’m currently using a beautiful deck by an incredibly talented artist by the name of, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law. If you have not had an opportunity to see her work then you can take a look here. She is such an inspiration.
The Queen of Cups
As I pondered upon what my goals are today and what my intentions were, I had to ask about my trip. I want each trip to be successful. Each one to have something that everyone can draw from. Interaction or art or simply sharing a cup of tea, I want to present my best. It is what people will take away from the incounter. You never know who you will effect, inspire, and vice a versa. You just have to prepare and then leave the rest to……….. Well you know.
“The very being of the Queen of Cup si a creative nexus. She is poetry in motion, imagination incarnate. “
This excerpt from the “Shadowscapes Companion” just lifted me. It’s important that I insert here, the cards are a tool to give me a different perspective that I may not have thought of. Or words that encourage me that sometimes I lack to give my self. I do not base my live on them but I add them to my life.
Tea Can Relax and calm
Each day I start with a relaxing cup. The way it warms and moves through my body makes me come alive. I always add this to my ritual. Today’s Tea is Pukka Turmeric Glow.
I always pick the same place to meditate. There is a positive energy flow with this and it signals that I am not to be disturbed. I used to sit with my darling Benevolent Dictator in the morning and talk about the days adventrue but since his illness I have had to change my life.
So there you have it a glimpse into my life in the mornings. I hope that you will let me know what you do. How do you start each day and move on to your intentions and projects. In the coming weeks I will share more with you on my life and experances. I hope to make more friends here at my blog and start conversations that will enrich my life and yours. Until tomorrow. Take care and have a creative day.
Love as always Edith
